INSTALL & USE

Ready in three steps.

    Download and extract

    Download the v0.3.6 ZIP and extract it to a folder you will keep.

    Load it in Chrome

    Open chrome://extensions, enable Developer mode, then choose Load unpacked and select that folder.

    Capture and ask

    Choose an AI, then use Full screen & send, Current tab, or Drag to capture & send.

FULL-SCREEN CAPTURE

One required Chrome confirmation.

To protect you, Chrome requires you to select your monitor and click Share. CaptureAsk cannot skip this system confirmation. After Share, the chosen AI opens and the capture is prepared for attachment.

INSTALL

Download the ZIP, extract it, then use Chrome Extensions → Developer mode → Load unpacked.

Choose ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, or Grok before capture. CaptureAsk opens the selected service after capture.

The extension captures only after you ask it to. Selecting an AI opens that service and prepares the capture for attachment; AI login, upload rules, and data handling remain governed by that service.

Before you capture

Current tab captures the visible page and shows a preview. Full screen & send captures the chosen monitor after Chrome’s Share confirmation. Drag to capture & send selects a rectangle on the visible page and opens the chosen AI.

Check the attachment

A new AI tab does not prove that the image was attached. Sign in before capture, then look for an image thumbnail. If it is missing, use Current tab, save the preview and upload the file with the AI service’s attachment control.

Write a checkable question

Include chart labels, units and dates in the crop. Ask the AI to distinguish visible facts from guesses and to say when text is unreadable. Inspect its answer before acting.
